Salman Khan believes Tubelight made his fans emotional and they couldn’t relate to it as an Eid release

Salman Khan on his Eid releases: I don’t think you should make anyone cry during festivals

It’s a sort of a mandate that Salman Khan should have a release on Eid for all his die hard fans. Like Christmas is reserved for Aamir Khan, Diwali for Shah Rukh Khan, Eid had a special connection with Salman. Of course, Aamir and SRK have exchanged their release dates but the Dabanng star is constant. No one can take an Eid release away from him and he has already booked the slot till 2020 we believe. Though the star doesn’t believe in having these festival releases, the fact that his fans wait eagerly for it cannot be ignored. He understands the expectations and tries hard to fulfill them.

Talking about the same in his recent interview to Hindustan Times, Salman revealed the importance of an Eid release for him and what will he keep in his mind after the not-so-great response to Tubelight last year. He said, “There is Eid, Diwali, Christmas, and all the films that release around these times are what we call festive films. These are films which people would come and enjoy and whistle and hoot to. This is the kind of genre one would release during the festive time. We released Tubelight during Eid and people went to see it. But then, along with hooting and whistling, they also started crying because the movie had scenes which made the audience emotional. On Eid, I don’t think you should make anyone cry.” Guess, the actor believes as an Eid release, his movie should offer pure entertainment to his fans and not make them emotional.

Later the actor even voiced his opinion on what he thinks about various clubs like 100 crore or 500 crore that make the most noise these days. The actor questions saying, “Which film made Rs 500 crore? Aamir Khan’s film and my film put together hasn’t made Rs 500 crore. Only Baahubali has collected Rs 500 crore. It’s just the way people talk. Fans and friends end up talking about figures but all this is usually imaginary and people talk about all this badha chadha ke.”
