Yay! Kangana Ranaut and Aamir Khan are set to collaborate for a film together.
A few days ago, a picture of Aamir Khan along with Kangana Ranaut and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi producer Kamal Jain went viral on social media. Everyone from their fans to the media started speculating whether the two stellar performers were going to team up for a film. And while there has been no confirmation or denial from either parties till date, let us tell you that a film was discussed that day and the talks for a collaboration are still going on. But before you start thinking something else, let us tell you that Aamir will just be producing a film and not acting in it. Talking about their recent meeting, producer Kamal Jain mentioned to Mid-Day that “a collaboration” is in the offing. The producer further added, “The meeting was regarding a collaboration that is in the works. It was a positive meeting. We had a long discussion, and are hopeful that something more fruitful comes of it.”
Mid-day further reports that Kangana Ranaut and Kamal Jain discussed the Arunima Sinha biopic with Aamir Khan and he was quite excited about the inspirational tale. As a trade source revealed to the tabloid, “The film was originally expected to be backed by Farhan Akhtar, but was later acquired by DAR Motion Pictures. Given its compelling storyline, it won’t be surprising if Aamir Khan also comes on board as producer.
For those of you who don’t know, the film revolves around the journey of the first female amputee to have climbed Mount Everest. And while Aamir seems interested to produce the movie, Kamal Jain is not jumping through gun yet. As he added, “When things are finalised, we will make an announcement. For now, we are in the process of putting things together. I can’t divulge any further details on the project.”
Apart from discussing this film, Kangana Ranaut even asked Aamir for some advice as she plans to release Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi in China. As a source further states, “Kamal and Kangana are keen to release the Rani Laxmibai biopic in China. They had also gone to seek advice from Aamir on the subject. Since Aamir has cracked the Chinese market with his string of hits, his feedback is important to the film’s strategy.”
