Harvey Weinstein might just be back to the Hollywood, not that literally though. According to a recent report by a portal, Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, along with Annapurna Pictures has bought the rights to produce a film based on the international publication’s coverage of Harvey Weinstein.
It was back in October 2017, that Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey provided the people a true deep investigation into the producer’s alleged sexual misconduct. Reportedly, the findings were done over a period of 10-long-months. Although Weinstein has been in denial, many women have come forth to draw light to the allegations against him. Subsequent to the coverage, the #MeToo and Time’s Up movement gained momentum.A spokesperson for Annapurna Pictures reportedly gave insights about the film’s story, said that the story revolves around the women who led the investigation itself and will not necessarily focus entirely on the man behind the abuse. In a laymen term, the film is about how this team of reporters tracked, chased and broke this story.
Pitt’s production house has been successful in the field. They have helmed Oscar-winning movies like ‘12 Years a Slave’ and ‘Moonlight’. Not behind in the league, Annapurna too has had hits under their umbrella which includes super hits such as ‘Zero Dark Thirty’, ‘Phantom Thread’ and ‘American Hustle’.
Well, it is certainly exciting to wait and watch how the progress of the project takes place!
