Exclusive! Lyca postponed 2.0 only after being assured of Kaala Karikaalan’s release on April 27
Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar‘s 2.0 has been indefinitely postponed once again and we told you how Shankar and Lyca Productions had a major fallout because of this. The producers were unhappy that 2.0 has now missed three release dates as Shankar takes his own sweet time to edit the film. He wants to make it into a masterpiece, but with the process taking so much time, Lyca has been left frustrated. However, looks like the issues have been resolved and the standoff between Lyca and Shankar has been called off. And all this was possible only after Rajinikanth intervened. We exclusively know what went down before the decision to postpone 2.0 and prepone Kaala Karikaalan was taken.
A source close in the know how of the film revealed to us exclusively, “After the fallout between Shankar and Lyca concerning the release date of 2.0, Rajinikanth intervened and sorted things out. He even made sure that Lyca’s losses were compensated by getting them onboard for his next, Kaala Karikaalan and making sure the film replaces 2.0 in the April slot.” Lyca now has a release in April, Shankar has got some more time to get 2.0 ready and Rajinikanth has another producer backing his next, Kaala Karikaalan (earlier only Dhanush was producing the film).
