Ranveer received tremendous appreciation for his portrayal of Alauddin Khilji in ‘Padmaavat’. Recently the actor was awarded with the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for his brilliant performance in his magnum opus ‘Padmaavat’. To share his excitement about the same Ranveer Singh took to his Instagram and expressed his joy on winning the award. He captioned the picture as ” Honoured to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for my performance in #Padmaavat #anotherone #Khilji”
Interestingly Ranveer Singh’s ‘Padmaavat’ co-star Shahid Kapoor also bagged the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award (Best Actor) for his performance in the period drama. He dedicated his award to wife Mira Kapoor. With Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh both winning the awards this was surely a big victory for the ‘Padmaavat’ team.
On the work front, Ranveer Singh recently wrapped up Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’. After this, he will soon start with Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’ which also stars Sara Ali Khan. Ranveer Singh will also be seen playing the role of Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan’s movie, ‘83’ which is slated to release in 2019.
