While the movie was battling it out with the CBFC in order to get a certificate without any cuts, which also made it postpone its initial release date, Bollywood celebrities got a chance to catch the film ahead of its release. What a quietly gripping film #Omerta is. Don’t miss it! And @RajkummarRao, who is perhaps the most brilliant actor of our times, so easily becomes the character… A truly outstanding performance! ❤ Congratulations Raj and @mehtahansal

Speaking about the intense plot of the film, director Hansal Mehta told a news agency that there are some standard emotions that a film leaves you with like happiness, sadness but this film would leave everyone angry. He emphasised on how we live in a world where a villain like this exists and yet we are silent about it.
‘Omerta’ is a biographical crime drama film directed by Hansal Mehta and stars Rajkummar Rao playing the role of Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, British terrorist of Pakistani descent. The film explores the 1994 kidnappings of Westerners in India for which Omar was arrested and served time in prison and the plotting of murder of Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002. The film will hit the theatres on May 4th.
