Director Nagraj Manjule’s much-talked about project ‘Jhund’ will finally see the light of the day. A biopic based on the life of Vijay Barse, a retired teacher in Nagpur, it is finally set to roll in August. The movie revolves around Vijay, a sports teacher, who takes it upon himself to teach slum children how to play football. Actor Amitabh Bachchan who was approached to play the part was quite keen on doing the project, but had reluctantly pulled back a few months back due to budget constraints. However, as per reports on a website, with Bhushan Kumar and T-Series stepping in, the project will roll out in August post monsoon as the movie requires a lot of outdoor shoot. As per the reports, Nagraj (of ‘Sairat’ fame) will take Big B to meet Vijay Barse in Nagpur as he had expressed an interest to meet him. Because the biopic will be made with Barse’s consent and approval, the meeting is important.
We can’t wait to see the magic Mr Bachchan will create on screen with this role (too!).
