It’s raining biopics in India and this one’s bound to grab some eyeballs. Aahana Kumra, who made a mark in the critically-acclaimed Lipstick Under My Burkha, will essay the role of Priyanka Gandhi in the upcoming biographical film, The Accidental Prime Minister, directed by Vijay Gutte. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta is also creatively associated with the project. While we hear the actress has been finalised for the part, it will be interesting to see her transformation on screen.
Those unaware, the biopic is loosely-based on the 2014 memoir by Indian policy analyst and political commentator Sanjaya Baru. Mayank Tewari has written the adapted screenplay, which will see Anupam Kher playing Manmohan Singh and Akshaye Khanna as Sanjaya Baru.
