Karan Johar’s one of the upcoming projects is titled ‘Kalank’ and even before it’s official announcement, it became the talk of the town. Featuring an ensemble cast of Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapur, the epic drama set in the 1940s also stars Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in the lead.
Interestingly, it’s after 20 long years that Madhuri and Sanjay will reunite onscreen.
Madhuri Dixit, who was of late busy working for Indra Kumar’s ‘Total Dhamaal’ alongside Anil Kapoor, Twitter to express her excitement of working in KJo’s ‘Kalank’.
She tweeted, “Just finished my shoot with @AnilKapoor and #indrakumar on the sets of #TotalDhamaal and was phenomenal as usual. Now arrived at the sets of #Kalank with @karanjohar for the look test. The sets are breathtaking. Can’t wait for you to see both films!!”

Meanwhile, talking about the film, Karan said in a statement, “Kalank has been an emotional journey for me. A germ of an idea that I had nearly 15 years ago; a film that was in pre-production stage helmed by my father. I am now proud to pass it on to the capable and visionary hands of our director, Abhishek. The film is a beautifully structured story by Shibani Bathija, and has an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek.”
