We revealed to you exclusively that Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt’s Shiddat has been rebranded as Kalank and the official announcement is here! The makers released the first poster today, April 18, along with the full cast details and release date. And we can now confirm that the film has begun its journey today, April 18 and will release a year later on April 19, 2019. But did you know that Kalank has a connection with 2 States (the Alia Bhatt – Arjun Kapoor starrer)?Yes, Kalank is not only directed (Abhishek Varman) and produced (Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala) by the same people, but the epic drama also starts its journey on the same day (April 18) when 2 States was released four years ago. Confirming this, trade analyst, Taran Adrash also mentioned on Twitter, “More on #Kalank. The film, which was planned 15 years ago by Karan and his dad Yash Johar, will finally be made in 2018. Story is set in 1940s. On 18 April 2014, #2States had released. On 18 April 2018, #Kalank begins its journey. #Kalank to release on 19 April 2019.” Producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, also revealed, “18th April 2014, 2 States had released. 18th April 2018 KALANK begins its journey. This multi starrer with a story will cross all borders, under the capable direction of Abhishek Varman. It be historic in the true sense of the word. I am genuinely happy to be back with the team Fox Star and Karan Johar. This film is special to all of us!”
