What do you think?

Will Pad Man BEAT Toilet: Ek Prem Katha to become Akshay Kumar’s biggest hit?

The hit machine of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, has emerged as one of the highest earners in the entertainment industry. In the last few years, Akki is on a roll, thanks to his unconventional and interesting choices. Akshay is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming social biographical drama, Pad Man, which is set to hit screens this Friday. The film has been the talk-of-the-town since its inception for its unusual plot and subject. While we definitely know that Pad Man will turn out to be a huge money-spinner at the box office but do you think it will beat Toilet: Ek Prem Katha to become Akshay’s biggest hit at the box office? Here’s what we think…

As per our predictions, the film is expected to open at around Rs 13 crore on its first day and will show good growth over the weekend. The opening weekend total might be in the range of Rs 40-45 crore. Since the film will have a solo release, it will remain steady in the weekdays and might earn around Rs 70 crore in its opening week. But not to forget, the film will also heavily depend on the word of mouth response to perform well at the ticket window, specifically in the multiplexes. Despite Aiyaary coming the following week, we don’t think Akshay’s Pad Man will face a huge screen crunch since Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee’s has limited mass appeal.

So, by taking these points into consideration, we believe that Pad Man will enter the Rs 100 crore club but surpassing the lifetime business of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (Rs 135 crore), will indeed be a big task for the film.
